Looking for Trouble

"The light of God surrounds me; The love of God enfolds me; The power of God protects me; The presence of God watches over me. Wherever I am, God is!" ~~ James Dillet Freeman
In the movie, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, which I watched last night, Sybok (Spock's half brother) tries to get the crew of the Enterprise to take him to a mythical planet where he believes creation began and the home of God Almighty. The planet is beyond a barrier where no one has gone before. Sybok uses his telepathic abilities to get the crew on his side.

Long story short, they manage to break through the barrier and Captain Kirk, Sybok, Spock and McCoy take a shuttle to the planet to meet the Almighty who is an energetic force with immense power. Sybok is impressed but Kirk isn't convinced especially when god starts asking them how they managed to get through the barrier and if he could see their ship. When Kirk asks god what he wants with a star ship, god gets angry and attacks him and his crew. In the end, they do manage to destroy the entity before it leaves the planet.

I believe anyone who travels somewhere to look for God is looking for trouble. It's rather like these places that people flock to because they believe they are sacred and have a lot of energy. Some people even flock to see people whom they believe have God power and wisdom and look to these people for guidance. I say you're not only looking to be deceived but being ripped off in the bargain.

As I see it, God's nature is omnipresence i.e. God is in everything and everywhere. Therefore, instead of searching for God at some far away place or looking to someone, all I need to do is look within me and I'll "discover" that the same One that is in me is the same One that is in all.

Here's one demonstration.

For the last few weeks when I've been using the Internet at the library, I've noticed when I try to log into two particular websites, the pages are stuck at an old date; but when I log on at home I have no problem accessing the current website pages. The only one who could answer my question is the IT (Information Technology) guy but he doesn't work in the same building. I have thought of emailing him but it's such a long-winded process that I couldn't be bothered. So yesterday I asked God to resolve the situation once and for all.

Today while I was in the library, I saw the IT guy working on a computer near me. I then asked him about the stuck page and he said it was because the page was slow loading. He asked me if I had tried pressing Refresh function. When I did, the situation was resolved. He said whenever I have that problem I should always press Refresh.

I didn't have to go looking for the IT guy or writing emails. All I needed to do was speak to the One in me, which is the same One in the IT guy; and he heard me and came to my assistance.

I don't need to go looking for God because God is right where I am.
